The ultimate scan-to-CAD solution brings new plans to meet the needs of price-sensitive customers.
Geomagic Design X has long held the leading position in 3D scanning thanks to its powerful functionality, tight scanner integration and experienced support network. To enable more manufacturers to embrace this technology, we’re introducing a three-tiered product plan starting from $1,900 a year. Anyone can now get Geomagic Design X, whatever their workflow or budget.
The plans were created with your needs in mind. Over the years it’s become apparent that a one-size-fits-all solution doesn’t work. As the scanning market has matured, the types of scanners have diversified, with a noticeable increase in entry-level options suitable for small operations. Scanning software should mirror the same variety of options.
The plans will enable new entrants to get their reverse engineering projects off the ground and simplify upgrading to more advanced versions as requirements grow. Here’s an overview of the key capabilities of each plan.
Geomagic Design X Go
A new product plan for users who are tackling their first scan-based reverse engineering projects or those who work only with simple parts. Prices start at an accessible $1,900 a year.
This plan encompasses the tried-and-true tools you would require for solid and surface modelling, mesh and point cloud editing and more.
Perfect for handheld scanners, this plan gives you interoperability with any CAD software products with Live Transfer. Watch the video for a quick overview of the Live Transfer.
You can find the complete list of the functionalities on the Geomagic Design X Plans page. If you’re ready to start your journey, download the free trial.
Geomagic Design X Plus
Are you routinely reverse-engineering complex parts? You could speed up your workflow with the additional features that come with the Plus plan. We’re talking about an enhanced set of tools for more control over meshes and additional tools for modeling, surfacing and accuracy analysis.
You could also capture scan data directly inside Design X by using the scanner plugins and probing tools.
See some of these tools in action below.
Geomagic Design X Pro
If you want to reverse engineer without limits, Design X Pro is the solution. Its toolkit allows you to go from scan to CAD faster than anything else on the market.
You can model complex organic and hybrid models with Pro’s advanced modelling, mesh processing and surfacing tools. If you’re processing many similar parts, you can set up automated workflows to substitute repetitive manual tasks with tools for scan and batch processing. The Modeling Wizards and Auto Sketch shave off hours of design work.
A whole host of other features available exclusively in the Pro plan will help you create design-intent models from intricate parts easily.
Here’s an in-depth look into some of these tools, including Roll/Unroll.

Democratising 3D reverse engineering
3D scanning has transformed manufacturing. It enables designers to create parts and engineers to fabricate them in record time. While the initial investment required meant some smaller operations missed out on this technology in the past, the new Geomagic Design X Go plan makes it accessible to everyone. As an operation’s projects diversify and expand, it can upgrade to Geomagic Design X Plus or Pro.
