1. What is your role within Hexagon?
I am the Marketing Director at Hexagon’s China Manufacturing Intelligence Division.
2. How did you come to pursue your current career?
I have spent the majority of my career at Hexagon especially in the field of Marketing & Communication. I focus on three areas in marketing. The first one is content marketing where I develop materials to support sales and marketing promotion. The second one is event marketing, we hope can meet customer face to face, understand well about our customers and meet their needs. The third area is digital marketing, this is the most efficient channel for us, we hope can do more practices in this area.
3. Is there a mentor who encouraged you?
My mentors change over time as the demands of my career evolve. Recently, I appreciate Kobe Bryant. For example, the Mamba spirit advocated by him – passionate, obsessive, relentless, resilient, fearless; you need to be what you want to be in your life.
4. Which aspects of your job do you most enjoy and why?
I love putting in the time and energy to plan and prepare well for an event in which stakeholders end up being very engaged, because it shows that I have taken the right approach.
5. What challenges have you faced and how did you overcome them?
As Hexagon builds out its smart factory ambitions, I’ve had to explore lots of new domains and understand how a variety of technologies inter-relate to address our customers’ needs. To do this, you have to step out your comfort zone, keep learning new things and think about why, how and what, until you have a clear picture in your mind.
6. Which professional achievements are you most proud of and why?
I have to say the next one, as in our sector there are always a lot of exciting things waiting for us around the corner
7. What advice would you give to young women considering a career in your field?
Understand what your career entails, be sure you really like it, balance your family and your job, be professional and be happy.
