Employee Spotlight: Kerry Tellier

What is your name and position within Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence?
Kerry Tellier, New England Inside Sales Representative.

How long have you been with the company and how did you get into this line of work?
October will be my 12-year anniversary. Before I started with Hexagon, I gained a lot of Customer Service/Sales experience working in the swimming pool industry. I was looking for a change when I saw a job posted for the TESA division of Brown & Sharpe. I was super excited to be offered the position because EVERYONE knows Brown & Sharpe! The company had a lot of history in Rhode Island and I believed a lot of room for growth. Hexagon has turned out to beexactly what I expected and I’m incredibly happy things are working out the way they are.

What does your day look like at Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence?
Currently, I am still learning what my day looks like. I am excited to say that as of 1 July 2017 I joined the Inside Sales team for the New England division. In the morning, I go through my emails and voicemails to address everything as necessary. I take care of requests as I receive them from my sales team; creating quotes using both our Configure Price Quote software (CPQ) or templates, depending on the request. In my ‘free time’ I review my reports in our CRM database software to ensure all the data is accurate and complete to the best of my ability. Prior to this new position I worked with the Customer Order Service (COS) department, processing orders and creating the related bill of materials.

What is the most challenging aspect of your role here at Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence? What is your favorite?
I think the most challenging aspect of my position is learning what to ask. You don’t know, until you realize you don’t know. With the new role, I’m learning a lot of new things, it’s an awesome feeling when you can implement something you’ve just learned and see how it all comes together!

What is one thing that most people don’t know about you?

Most people don’t know I’m shy… HAHAHAHA just kidding! I’m an open book, for the life of me I can’t think of anything that most people don’t know about me.

What do you like to do for fun outside of the office?
I love kayaking and try to get a trip in every weekend, taking Sadie my German Shepherd for a trek through the woods, heading to the beach, traveling, running obstacle course races and street races. When the snow comes, I snowboard. Every time I go kayaking, run a race, or snowboard and come back in one piece is a win!
