An interview with Canada’s newest Commercial Service Manager

To bring our team to the customers, we recently had a virtual chat with Hexagon Canada’s new Commercial Service Manager, Harpreet Mundey. In this chat, we dove into Harpreet’s experience, passions, and what he hopes to accomplish for Hexagon in Canada.

RT: First off, where are you located?

HM: I am originally from Northern India. I came to study in Canada about a decade ago and ended up staying. Now, I work as part of our Oakville office in Ontario, Canada.

RT: What were you doing before you came to Hexagon?

HM: For the last nine years, I worked in industrial automation and a robot OEM. However, I couldn’t turn down the opportunity to come to Hexagon. I was very excited to work for a world-leading tech and software company, as I am passionate about the principles behind tech. I am constantly expanding my knowledge on the subject and learning more.

RT: What is your approach to your role?

HM: My approach is to observe and assess in order to make informed choices for the business.

I also believe in putting the customer experience first. I think educating customers and earning their trust and loyalty is very important. I want our customers to rest assured we have the best technology and their best interest at heart. I think transparency for the customer is key and we should treat them how we would want to be treated. Exemplary service is key.

RT: What are your goals for the rest of 2023?

HM: I always strive for operational excellence, and I am hoping to bring an even better discipline and structure to the business.

RT: What would you like people to know about you?

HM: I am approachable and have an open-door policy – both internal and external. Customers and team members can come to me with anything.

RT: What are your passions outside of work?

HM: I enjoy spending time with my family. We like cooking together, dirt-biking, travelling, playing cricket, and taking on home improvement projects. I am also passionate about technology and reading. Currently, my favorite book is ‘Atomic Habits’ (by James Clear). Business of the 21st Century (by Robert T. Kiyosaki) is another great book.

Additionally, I started learning to ski this year.

(*When asked how dirtbiking and skiing were going, Harpreet commented “Well I haven’t been injured yet, so it’s going well I think” – A very practical method for judging how one is doing at a new activity!)

RT: What are you dressing up as for Halloween?

HM: My wife told me I should dress up as a robot so…

RT: Are there any final thoughts you would like to share?

HM: I would like to raise awareness in Canada, so our customers know that Hexagon is there and has multiple service locations. We are here to help!
